I'm a bit out of the loop with acronyms, what do CDID and HCDID stand for? I have a dissociative disorder myself and I'm just curious if they relate to DID at all and what their differences are?

Hi anonnn. Okay, so for CDID it just means polyfragmented. Complex DID is just the medical terminology for it but they mean the same thing. CDID encompasses a variety of system structures but someone who is polyfragmented typically has dissociative experiences that differ from non-polyfragmented systems such as a multitude of subsystems and the formation of them, epochal resets, more EPs than ANPs, etc.
Polyfragmentation is the highest form of dissociation there can be on the dissociative spectrum, there exists nothing after it. You cannot get more complex than CDID but two people with CDID will not be the same as trauma manifests differently.
HCDID isn’t real. Putting it simply. HC stands for “Highly Complex” which.. is not a thing. You cannot get more complex than polyfragmentation even with extreme abuse (HCDID is an acronym those with RAMCOA [Not sure why you’d even make that public] use to show that their system formed forcibly from organized abuse and they have a complex system structure) when this is quite literally what CDID is. It’s trying to one up trauma and be uppity it literally isn’t a real term and it’s not medically backed. If you see studies about the effects of brainwashing / extreme abuse irt to DID they use polyfragmentation and Complex DID as the terminology, HCDID was made up on Tiktok.
